Default Unlock PVE-only TITLES for other Characters

One of your characters went all the way for a certain PVE title in Eye of the North / Nightfall.

I'm referring to titles that are related with PVE-only skills, namely:

(Nightfall)
- Lightbringer
- Sunspear

(Eye of the North)
- Asura
- Deldrimor
- Ebon Vanguard
- Norn

But you have other characters and little to no desire to do all that grind ALL OVER AGAIN. What to do...?

Throughout your account, other characters that got to level 20 would be able to unlock one of these maxed titles that you achieved at least once. Similar to what happens when level 20 characters are able to go to Hard Mode and access the purchased Eotn, once unlocked for the first time.

The pre-requisites: your other characters would have to be level 20, step in Nightfall / Eotn (at least once) and spend skill points.

As for spending skill points, it could be something like this:

You go to the Titles panel and notice a "Locked titles" section.

For first time unlock: "The Gods require X skill points to unlock this title". Subsequent unlocks would require +X the amount of skill points from the previous unlock.

This way players could actually have fun using more than one character to go after one of those titles and knowing that their other characters would be able to unlock it, if the player chooses to do so.

Players would still need to do whatever quests necessary to acquire the skills related with that title.

What do you think?

Unlocking PVE titles could be done by spending skill points.

Something like this:

You go to the Titles panel and notice a "Locked PVE titles" section.

For first time unlock: "The Gods require 5 skill points to unlock this title". Subsequent unlocks would require +5 the amount of skill points from the previous unlock.

This way players could actually have fun using more than one character to go after a certain PVE title and knowing that their other characters would be able to unlock it, if the player chooses to do so.

Players would still need to do whatever quests necessary to acquire the skills related with that title.

absolutely signed ... also would give things, like Star consumeables, and general Skill Points more sense and usagge, also it would make more fun to play with more than 1 characters and would be not so extremely dumb time consuming, that you either first put the game into the cupboard, and start playing GW2, before all your characters have all titles, which you have archieve at least once with your main character ...

but in dont agrre with the way of Skill point stacking ...

Each title should just have a certain chosen sum of SP, they shoukld cost for activation ...

Survivor and LdoA should have then special high cost and can be activated, regardless of which of the 2 goals u've archieved

Also pvp titles hsould have extra high SP costs, and should be activateable, whenever the player is willing to pay the Sp cost for it...
buth these SP would be special conted...

SP would be divided by SP gained through playing pvE and SP gained through playing any pvp ....

this way, the activated for pve costs PvE-Sp and the activation for pvp titles iwll cost PvP-SP ...

Example:

My Main Character has made PvE title legendary guardian, legendary cartographer, all racial titles max , has maxed gladiator and is legendary survivor

now i change to charactre too, he has all those titles not ... but with payment of SP, you can unlock them ...

cause my main is LS ... i can unlock for character LS and LDoA...

LS would cost for example 250 PvE SP, while LDoA would cost 500
Hero R15 would for example cost 1000 PvP-SP

and so on ...

this way players eould receive a real long time motivation, that don#t frustrates, because there exist titles, that are forever unable to receive, because u either died once and don#t want to perma die for it, until u finally level to lvl 20 in a tutorial oO...

then the solution means simple, that you work for your titles, until you have enough special SP for it, to unlock it for your character ....

i go even so far to say, that titles should have SP costs for account wide unlock ....

You'd have to be lvl 20

Not KoaBD or LDoA, fool, it's the pve skill grind titles.

If you can get it on one character then why not get them on all.

I don't understand why all titles are not account based instead of lots of character based already.

There's a search function.

Way to make a new thread.

The Thread is called "Make All Grind-Based Titles Account Based"

Or some stupidity like that.

lern2serch.

and for the record, /notsigned. For reasons I explained in that thread.

so many have said soemthign similar and i dont agree with it at all, some titles are accoutn wide some arent.

some maybe should be account wide that arent,

but no way shoudl you be able to purchase titles or unlock them just because you have it on one character already

i stand about getting drunk on one character for 10,000 minutes, and another one of my characters not having had a single drink decides he wants to be a drunkard so he goes to a title trainer and unlocks the drunkard title?

does that make any kind of sense?

Mymate went exploring round the world and has visited everywhere, I can't be bothered so i think I will go to a God and ask them to make it so everyone thinks i have went on those excursions. Hey maybe you should make it so Korimar does that one for you

Lil Ferk, the titles that I'm referring to are...

(Nightfall)
- Lightbringer
- Sunspear

(Eye of the North)
- Asura
- Deldrimor
- Ebon Vanguard
- Norn

And they wouldn't be automatically acquired; call it pre-requisites: other characters would have to be level 20, stepped in Nightfall / Eotn (at least once) and spend skill points... I'll add this to my initial post.

Thank you for the indication guys. The game mechanics that I'm suggesting would be different from what was suggested in that likewise interesting thread, not just a variation of it.

There's a common worry that the so called GRIND titles is a leap out of the initial philosophy from ArenaNet of skill over time. Whatever threads or posts may come, or if a moderator decides to close this thread (since it can be considered out of forum rules), I share the belief that there is a problem that needs fixing - whatever that solution may be...

/agree to all here except the bolded. MotN is to be earned and reflects a unique experience with each character, rather than repeated grind.

One little tweak to it, though: Must be rank 5 or higher to be able to do this - that way some of the title points are earned on each character; the ones that are not really grinded and accessible through playing the game once on each character.

Thank you for your hawkeyes arcanemacabre. I agree that Master of the North shouldn't be there as well.

That's an interesting idea that could work well with the Hero's Handbook and Master Dungeon Guide.

with my system with paying PvE/PvP-Sp for unlocking Titles, this won't happen, unless characters got the SP to pay for the unlock...meaning that the character must be at least level 20 ....

As I said in the other thread, its the player that is achieving these titles, its the player that should be rewarded. Grind is no different between different chars so its not as if its a different playstyle on different proffesions. (Unlike the titles that would remain char based)
